Talk to Examine ’25 Years of Jingju’

Elizabeth Wichmann-Walczak, professor of Asian Theatre at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, will discuss “25 Years of Jingju (Beijing Opera)” from 4:25-5:50 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, in EB-110. Wichmann-Walczak is the first honorary (and first non-Chinese) member of the National Xiqu (Chinese opera) Institute. She has been awarded the National Xiqu Music Association’s Kong Sanchuan Award for excellence in research, creation and performance. Co-sponsored by the Confucius Institute of Chinese Opera; the Department of Theatre; the Department of Asian and Asian American Studies; and the Institute for Asia and Asian Diasporas.
